The original footballcv.com concept. (2000).

The brainchild of Peter Mallinger, Graham Starmer and David Mallinger.
Originally footballcv.com was set up as a job site for soccer players to advertise thier own experience and ability. Once registered the players details are placed onto the database for managers, coaches and scouts to view. The powerful on-line search engine allows club officials to search the site by age, location, position experience or a combination of different criteria to make a player selection and availablity a simple process. First contact with a player will always be through www.footballcv.com who will in turn verify the interest is genuine and only then will an appropiate introduction be made.

12 months later. (2001). Trial Days.

www.footballcv.com took off well and within a few months of it's formation over 200 members had registered. We felt however we needed to increase the impetus of the company and provide our members with an added incentive that would at the same time assist the clubs interested in our players. We decided to hold a Trials Day at Kettering Town Football Club. The idea being to hold a number of games in various age groups to give all our interested members an opportunity to show their ability on the field. Invitations were then sent to all Premier, Football and Non-League clubs inviting them to watch and assess the palyers on view. The idea was an instant success. The first trial day was oversubscribed and we had to limit the number of players and the actual playing time of each match. The games attracted representatives from six Premier League clubs and several more from the Football League and Non-League circles. In addition Sky TV were in attendance together with GMTV, Central and Northants TV and Radio Northampton. The day was an outstanding success for all concerned.

Barry Fry joins the team. (2002)

In 2002 Peterborough manager Barry Fry joined the team. A former player at Manchester United and Bolton Wanderers, Barry went on to manage Barnet, Southend United and Birmingham City before taking over the reins at the 'Posh'. Barry has already attended trial days at Kettering and was of course at Peterborough United ground for thier trial day. Barry has joined us in a role of consultant. His experience will be invaluable as will be knowledge and 'eye' for a player.

The present.

footballcv.com now has over 700 members registered.

The site was declared a Golden Web Award winner for 2002-2003. footballcv.com was considered an outstanding website, incorporating high standards of design, originality and content. The certificate can be verified on the website.

We have commenced a number of Assessment Days which are giving more personal tuition while monitoring members fitness and mobility. An assessment of each candidate is issued in order to assist the member and encourage him to work on any weak points in his game.

What the members say ..........

"My son Kieran (age 13) has always wanted to be a footballer, but it is not that easy to get noticed by clubs. He joined footballcv.com in August 2002 and went to a Trials Day at Kettering Town's ground in October. Bob Hughes, a scout from Manchester City was present and through Footballcv made contact and arranged for Kieran to have further trials with the Maine Road club.

On November 10th he made his debut for Manchester City's Academy against Sheffield Wednesday. I can't speak highly enough about footballcv.com. They have given Keiran the opportunity he wanted. It really is a fairytale come true."
Mrs Davies

What the Media say ..........

'So you think you're a promising footballer but you've slipped through the net so what can you do ?........
The simplest thing is to register on the Internet with footballcv.com'
Central TV

'Who knows, this could produce the next future England captain ?'
Sky Sports

What the Clubs say ..........

"I think footballcv.com is great idea. It gives the clubs the chance to pick players who later could be late developers or who missed the boat. Following the first footballcv.com Trial Day two lads came to Preston, one from Cambridge and one from Grimsby".
David Winwood - currently Youth Scout for Preston North End who has also scouted for Manchester United and Arsenal and has 32 years experience as a scout.

"Footballcv.com has found a new innovative way of bringing together club representatives and would be footballers of all ages. The quick turnaround and professional approach of footballcv.com means scouts have the opportunity to see the largest number of players in the shortest possible time. Leicester City have already benefited from attending previous Trial Days and will certainly be in attendance in the future."
Bob Mullan, Recruitment and Admin Manager at Leicester City

The Future

Footballcv.com will continue with it's expansion programme.

We are presently working to secure further grounds around the country in order to increase the number of trial opportunities and reduce the amount of travelling for our members. We have recently held trials at Sutton United, South London and Peterborough United and early next year we will be holding further trials at Kettering Town in the Midlands and Altrincham in the North-West with more to be confirmed in the North-East, South-West etc.
